About Me
I am a physician scientist working at the intersection of AI and health, on a mission to improve health outcomes through AI-enabled precise medicine. I'm currently a researcher at Microsoft Research working on multimodal generative AI for real world evidence.
Previously, I earned a PhD in the Department of Biomedical Data Science at Stanford University, where I developed the notion of comprehensive radiology AI - systems to train and evaluate multimodal, quantitative diagnostic and prognostic models based on medical images and other medical record modalities.
My interest in combining math and computers with medical practice began during my undergraduate studies, where I conducted research while earning degrees in biomedical engineering and medicine from Universidad de los Andes in my native Colombia. This early research experience built the foundation for my later work in AI and healthcare.
Outside of work, I enjoy cycling and spending time in nature.
